Hello hello! So I am out and about joining communities!! Go me!! I don't know if it posts to my journal or the community or one so this first one is a "test-her-out" post to which you should pay absolutely no heed. In fact you probably shouldn't bother reading anything I write because it usually makes no since or it's just me venting about how the world sucks, save when the subject line is "THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY, YOU MUST READ THIS!!" which will probably never happen anyways. Here we go! *Straps on helmet* 1....2....3....*poof* Doh, on second thought I could just look at the bottom of the page and realize that it posts to the community. *(Sings) I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I work all day* Brownie points to any wonderful soul who can name the source of that song.

Hello community!! Hope you don't mind me joining, I would assume not since it's a community but assuming makes and "ass" out of "u" and "me", so I'll ask anyways. On the community's info page it mentions theories on the existence of penguins, so here goes. I personally believe that penguins are a superior life force to mankind and such can be proved by one distinct fact: when penguins reproduce (this pertains to empire penguins) the MALE sits on the egg until it hatches, as opposed to the human pregnancy where the woman turns into a balloon. (Note: Though it is an interesting fact the male/female dominance in relativity to humans IS a joke.) :)

looong post helped by graciously-applied cut feature!
Chaos: the state of matter before it was reduced to order; disorder.

Random: (n) a rush, full speed; uncontrolled or unguarded state, freedom; haphazard; elevation of a gun; irregular masonry.

As we can see from these definitions, it is far more envigorating to be random than chaotic. Thus I join this community ^_^

Random stuff that happened to me this weekend:

1. I was jumped upon by a portugese guy who engaged me in a very free-ranging conversation in three languages about Greece beating the Chezks in Euro 2004, his two small children and headaches. When asked why he was asking me out for a drink, he said because I moved. Started laughing. I think he meant because he liked the way I moved rather than the fact that I had legs. Possibly it was a mistranslation. Agreed to have a drink with him some time, after which he held my hand ecstatically for about 3 minutes then wandered happily off having forgotten to ask my name or my number. That was amusing.

2. I became totally addicted to the manga Fruits Basket and bought the first 5 volumes. Am now poor, unsurprisingly.

3. Saw the opera of Gormenghast and had hysterics as characters appeared and apparently sang such songs as "humans are sexier than lemurs", and white fluffy toy cats were dismembered and thrown onstage at the climax of the story.

And someone mentioned short stories? Here is a perfectly upbeat, perfectly harmless short story I wrote at some point... I believe I was meant to be doing revision at the time...
Munchies or No Munchies?Collapse )

If you're interested in reading some of my other stuff:
smile if you like quoting The Princess Bride
(the contents of this site do not necessarily match the criteria for stories set by this community, therefore downbeatness & PG-17 ratings possible!)

*skips off to avoid history revision even more thoroughly*

ow! my feet really really hurt and I don't know why! unless maybe it is because my new shoes don't love me as much as I first thought they did. It's my stupid 2nd toe being longer than my big toe-my annoying deformed feet! I would kill them, but every once in a while I find them essential. Maybe I should kill my shoes. But I can't go to work if my feet are naked. I suppose I'll just wear my shoes a lot and hope that my feet morph into the shape of them, a practice similar to but not nearly as scary or painful as foot-binding. wearing shoes will be my main hobby this summer. what a wonderful hobby that will be.

hi! I decided to join this community because I would be the 7th member and 7 is a good number. And also it looked interesting. But I fear this is too directed to warrant being posted here...well I will try anyway.

Hello my name is Joe and I work in a button factory
I have a house, and a dog, and a family
One day, my boss said to me, "Hey Joe, are you busy?"
I said, "No".
He said "Turn the button with your left hand."

I said, "No".
He said "Turn the button with your head."

heres "something"
I did it and joined.
So heres my anything to write about:
I've again become a vegetarian and its been going really well, last few times i had tried if i was put in a place where there was just no other options i would cave.
but ive been doing well for i dont know how long. but yesterday my sisters went out for Chinese food and without thinking bought be cashew chicken instead of cashew veggie which is all vegatable based. all i had eaten yesterday was about 8 of those really thin, really crunchy Nature Valley granola bars, so i picked the chicken out. i still felt like i had been naughty though because im about 99.9% sure the sauce was some sort of chicken based.
Also, ive never really enjoyed meat substitutes- they dont taste at all like meat which i dont mind but the taste they have instead are nasty. BUT this tiny little grocery store down the way suddenly started selling Boca burgers and this store is the only place i can find them. they are really really good, they dont taste like meat but have a taste of thier own which is just as good.

so hows that for random? too random?
